MDerma Fractionated Skin Needling is the most technologically advanced skin needling device available.
Backed by an unparalleled commitment to safety and efficacy, this (US) FDA and (Aust) ARTG-approved medical device is used by leading health care providers.
MDerma Fractionated Dermal Needling offers the world’s most advanced vertical skin needling technology, providing patients with a more effective, minimally invasive and affordable treatment option that works to tighten, lift, rejuvenate and resurface the skin.
MDerma’s multiple needles use an automatic vibrating function to gently pierce the skin and stimulate natural collagen reproduction whilst allowing fine channels to be created in the skin. Your therapist is carefully initiating a wound healing response (which directly translates to a huge increase in deposition of high quality, densely woven collagen), whilst allowing fine channels to be created (as the cartridge moves over your skin).
These channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients allowing for treatment delivery deep into the skin to feed underlying cells found in the dermis and basal layer. This increased absorption of active ingredients into the skin creates stimulated repair and faster resurfacing results.
Each disposable cartridge contains 9, 31 gauge stainless steel micro needles. The MDerma allows the practitioner to control the depth of the treatment and the rate of penetration.
MDerma fractionated dermal needling is the perfect solution to a wide range of cosmetic treatments, including:
-
Skin tightening, natural collagen production lifting and rejuvenation
-
Healing acne scars and wounds
-
Improving wrinkles and fine lines
-

What is Skin Micro Needling?
Skin Micro Needling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that can be used on many areas of the body and on all skin types and skin tones (Fitzpatrick Scale I – VI).
Also referred to as Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI), Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), or Dermal Stamping, Skin Micro Needling Therapy is used to treat skin conditions by stimulating collagen production. Treatments that increase collagen synthesis can make the skin look and act younger. Medical-grade skin needling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that is used to treat skin concerns by generating new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, and more toned skin. The pinpricks from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin and the skin responds by making new collagen-rich tissue. By encouraging the skin to make new tissue, there may be more collagen and elastin to help make the skin firmer and more even in tone and texture.
Other skin treatments such as chemical peels, facials, or microdermabrasion are less intense with little to no recovery time or special aftercare required. However, these options are often best for mild to moderate skin concerns such as early signs of aging or ongoing acne, because they focus more on the surface layers of the skin.
The treatment is similar to laser treatments, but without the severe side effects or the long recovery time. There are some studies that show it is more effective than traditional microdermabrasion and chemical peels. The disposable needles minimise the risk of cross-contamination and the adjustable depth allows treatment that is adaptable to individual needs.
MDerma is so advanced, it is appropriate and suitable to use in sensitive and previously inaccessible areas such as the upper and lower eyes, lips and nose.

Three Phase Approach
01
Phase 1 - Skin Inflammation
Piercing the skin with the MDerma Skin Pen triggers the immune system to disinfect wounds, remove debris and increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
02
Phase 2 - Skin Proliferation
The wound is naturally rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develop.
03
Phase 3 - Skin Remodelling
The wound created with the MDerma Skin Pen is replaced with new dermal tissues, collagen, elastin, and blood vessels – replacing the injured skin.
Needling alone will not bring the absolute best results… and we believe if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Supporting the skin both inside and out on a daily basis is vital for the maximum success of any skin program.
This means that professional, active & effective homecare, ensuring the right ingredients are present to target cell processes, IS A MUST for the very best results. Our home care recommendations are based on scientific fact - and only after performing a thorough skin analysis with a professional skin analyser. Using incorrect products, or over treating, causes damage to the skin and can put the skin at risk.
An excellent barrier function must be present. We can help set you up with all the necessary skin ingredients to prep, repair & maintain your skin.
Skin Needling creates the BEST type of growth factors (TGF3 & EGF) as opposed to any other modality type (including Fraxel Laser, CO2 laser, Thermage, IPL & chemical peels) – without any of the normal associated downtime.
Certain growth factors (which are substances that cause cells to differentiate, proliferate & grow) are the “language of love” for skin cells that cause maximum benefit in rejuvenation treatments. It is unbeatable in this regard! Highest quality collagen deposition occurs, giving you long lasting results.
How many treatments it is recommended for rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation - 4 to 6 treatments
Acne scars - minimum 6 treatments
Stretch marks - 4 to 8 treatments
How soon will I see results?
Visible results are obvious after just one treatment but the most significant results are after four to six treatments. Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months.
Is the treatment painful?
For minimum depths there is minimal pain. Treatments with depths greater than 0.5mm, you may choose to apply topical anaesthetic between 15 and 40 minutes before the procedure. Please note, Queensland law does not permit us to recommend a numbing agent nor to administer same.
How long is the recovery process?
Flushing of the skin usually last between 12 and 48 hours after treatment although most people are able to return to their daily activities immediately after treatment.
